DPS Identifies Victim in Fatal Midland County Crash

 

MIDLAND, TX – The Texas Department of Public Safety has released additional details about a fatal crash involving a semi-truck on Sunday evening in Midland County.

According to a crash report, it happened around 8:20 p.m. at State Highway 349 and FM 1213, near East County Road 160. A semi-truck was traveling northbound on Highway 349 when a Chevrolet traveling westbound on FM 1312 disregarded a stop sign and was struck by the semi.

The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 45-year-old Manuel De Jesus Sanchez Velasco of Fort Bend, Texas, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck sustained minor injuries and was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital.
