Life Ends for Deer After High-Speed Crash Near Dove Creek

DOVE CREEK, TX – A sheriff's deputy had to euthanize a deer following a crash this evening.

First responders were dispatched around 6 p.m. Saturday to a crash involving a car and a deer near the intersection of Pecan Ln and FM 2335, where the speed limit is 70 mph.

The crash involved two occupants in the vehicle, a male and a female, who both complained of injuries caused by airbag deployment. An ambulance and fire truck were on the scene to assess the pair, but both declined further treatment and transportation to the hospital.

The deer survived the initial impact but had to be euthanized at the scene.

Traffic was slowed in the area as emergency crews, including the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office, San Angelo Fire Department, and Dove Creek Volunteer Fire Department, responded to the crash.

No further injuries were reported.
