Trent Man Killed in Crash at Unlit Intersection on Motorized Device

TRENT, TX – A 76-year-old Trent man was killed on November 4 after his "motorized mobility device," lacking reflectors or lights, entered an unlit intersection and was struck by a pickup truck.

The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that the crash happened just after 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of NW 1st Street and Oak Street. Rylie Cayden Lemay, 17, also of Trent, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado westbound when Larry Dean Morris entered the roadway directly in front of the truck.

Morris was taken to Hendrick Medical Center North, where he was pronounced deceased around 7:30 p.m. by Dr. Mackenzie.

Weather conditions were cloudy, with dry roads, and the posted speed limit on NW 1st Street is 40 mph.
