Texas Woman Fatally Struck by U-Haul Truck Driven by Her Mother

SAN ANTONIO, TX — A 25-year-old woman was killed Friday evening after her mother accidentally ran her over with a U-Haul truck, according to local police.

It happened around 8 p.m. on the city’s northeast side, where the family was moving into a new home. The family had rented a U-Haul truck to transport furniture.

According to authorities, the woman had asked her mother to move the truck forward while she stood behind it to guide her. However, the mother mistakenly put the vehicle in reverse instead of drive and then accidentally hit the accelerator, causing the truck to strike her daughter.

The woman was transported to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Police confirmed that no criminal charges will be filed in connection with the incident.
