Both Drivers Claim Green Light in South Chadbourne Crash

SAN ANGELO, TX — A crash at the intersection of West Avenue L and South Chadbourne Street this Tuesday afternoon led to two drivers claiming they had a green light and two people being transported to the hospital.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. when a white GMC Yukon traveling eastbound on Avenue L collided with a blue GMC Terrain heading southbound on Chadbourne Street.

Both drivers told police that they had the right of way, according to the San Angelo Police Department.

The lead investigator on the scene is working to determine which driver violated traffic laws.

It was said that a witness, who was unable to stay at the scene, provided her contact information, and police plan to follow up with her to corroborate the drivers’ statements.

Investigators are also reviewing potential video footage from nearby businesses.

No major injuries were reported, but one person from each vehicle was taken to the hospital via private transportation.

Authorities said that once the at-fault driver is identified, a citation for the red light violation would be issued.
