SAN ANGELO, TX — An afternoon crash into a brick sign sent both drivers to the hospital.
This happened today around 3 p.m. when San Angelo police officers and other first responders were dispatched to the intersection of Southwest Boulevard and Sunset Drive regarding a major crash.
On scene, a tan Chrysler Town and Country was observed to have struck the brick barrier for “Ambassador Square” and had major front-end damage. A black Chevy Malibu that was involved also had major front-end damage.
According to the San Angelo Police Department, the black Chevy Malibu was traveling west on Sunset Drive as the tan Chrysler Town and Country minivan was traveling east on Sunset Drive.
The Town and Country attempted to turn left onto Southwest Boulevard and crashed into the black Chevy Malibu, sending both vehicles off the road and the minivan into the brick signage.
Both drivers were transported to Shannon Medical Center, one in a private vehicle and the other in an ambulance.
The driver of the Town and Country had a green light but not a green arrow and was cited for failure to yield the right of way turning left.
