Coast Guard Saves 2 Children, 2 Adults from Capsized Boat Near Galveston

 

GALVESTON, TX — The Coast Guard rescued two children and two adults hanging on to a capsized boat off the Galveston coast on the Fourth of July. 

According to information, this happened when Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a report from Towboat U.S. at 6:20 p.m. about a vessel that capsized with four people on board. 

Watchstanders issued an “urgent marine information broadcast” and dispatched a Coast Guard crew to locate them. 

The crew spotted the victims hanging onto the boat and picked them up. 

Both children were wearing life jackets, while the man and woman were not. 

There were no reported injuries.
