Train Derails Near Pyote, No Injuries Reported

PYOTE, TX — A train derailment occurred this afternoon west of Pyote.

It happened at the 62-mile marker on Interstate 20 today, May 1. 

Reports started coming in around 3 p.m. between Pyote and Barstow. 

A response from local emergency services, including the Ward County Sheriff's Office and EMS, was prompted. 

According to the Wickett Volunteer Fire Department, there were no injuries.

Union Pacific is on the scene to assess the situation.
