Motorcyclist who Died in Crash with 18-Wheeler Identified

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Texas DPS identified the motorcyclist killed Tuesday, April 9, 2024, on US 87 towards Wall.

According to the DPS, the motorcyclist was driving behind a 2005 Freightliner towing a semi-trailer. The motorcyclist failed to control his speed and crashed into the semi-trailer from behind as the truck driver slowed to turn off the highway onto Brodax Ln.

The motorcyclist was driving a 2020 KTM 1290DGT motorbike.

Killed was Nicholas Denmar Johnson, 45, of Aurora, Colorado. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Tom Green County Pct 1 Justice of the Peace Susan Werner.

The truck driver, 58-year-old Olegario Valdez of San Angelo, was uninjured.

The crash happened at 3:10 p.m. on U.S. 87 at the Brodnax intersection. The skies were partly cloudy and the roadways dry.
