Crash Involving Multiple Vehicles Shuts Down Sherwood Way Exit

SAN ANGELO, TX — A multi-vehicle crash Monday morning closed the Sherwood Way exit off Loop 306.

Loop 306 traffic was jammed down to one lane near the Sherwood Way exit behind the Desert Shadows apartments.

Preliminary reports suggest the involvement of two primary vehicles and a potential third, dubbed a “non-contact vehicle.”

The crash unfolded as a Chrysler Pacifica, moving eastbound on Loop 306, attempted to exit onto Sherwood Way.

That’s when a Ford F-250 crashed with the rear of the Chrysler.

However, the driver of the Chrysler told the investigator that a black Chevy Tahoe was entering the loop, failed to yield the right of way, and forced the Chrysler “to the left.”

That’s when the Ford rear-ended the Chrysler.

The driver of the Chevy Tahoe, according to the police department, said that the Chrysler was at fault.

The Chevy driver said that the Chrysler was on the loop and forced him off the road; in a panic, the Chrysler veered to the left.

The investigator said that he didn’t have any “true evidence.”

He also said that the Chevy had a camera from which he could see footage. After the footage is examined, charges may be filed.

The Ford had one occupant, and the Chryler had two, and airbags were deployed in both vehicles.
