Elderly Driver in Jeep Injures Pedestrian in College Hills

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A pedestrian crash left an 18-year-old woman injured this Thursday afternoon. 

It happened in the 1800 block of South A&M, according to the San Angelo Police Department. 

The police department said the vehicle that struck the pedestrian was a black Jeep Wrangler. 

The young woman, who was struck by the vehicle, was found conscious and breathing on the ground by officers.

The victim was rushed to Shannon Medical Center. Her condition is currently being assessed. 

Authorities report that the Jeep, driven by a 76-year-old man, not only hit the pedestrian but also veered off into a nearby residence's front yard. 

The San Angelo Police Department’s Motor Division is gathering evidence, including surveillance footage from the surrounding residences, to piece together the events leading up to the crash.

As of now, it remains unclear whether any citations will be issued.
