Biker Killed in Crash at Rural Intersection Thursday

 

EASTLAND, TX – A motorcycle rider was killed in a crash with a pickup at a rural intersection in Eastland County Thursday afternoon.  

According to the report from the Texas Department of Public Safety, Mark Allen Jewett, 61, of Waseca, MN was riding his 1985 Honda VT-700 northbound on FM-2214 approaching the intersection with CR-237 about 7 miles south of Eastland.  At the same time, Terry Lee Rose, 49, of Eastland was southbound on FM-2214 in his 2024 Ford F-250 approaching the same intersection. 

The report shows that Rose failed to yield the right of way to the motorcycle and turned left into the side of the bike causing the crash.  

Jewett was not wearing a helmet.  He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Rose was wearing his seatbelt.
