Medical Issue May Have Caused Fatal Crash

 

ODESSA, TX — Odessa resident,70-year-old Robert Lee Harmon was driving on N West County Rd. when for an unknown reason, he crossed all lanes of traffic striking a tree, killing him on Monday, February 5, 2024. 

According to city officials, the incident occurred in the 4400 block of N West County Rd. Harmon, driving a red 2023 Chevrolet Spark, was traveling southbound when, for reasons yet unknown, he crossed all lanes of traffic and crashed head-on with a tree.

Odessa Fire Rescue promptly responded to the scene and transported Harmon to Medical Center Hospital. Despite their efforts, Harmon succumbed to the injuries sustained in the crash.

An ongoing investigation by authorities aims to determine if a medical issue played a role in the accident. The City of Odessa will continue to provide updates as the investigation progresses.
