GREENVILLE, NC — A 3-year-old child died after accidentally shooting himself in Greenville, N.C. According to the Greenville Police Department, the incident occurred at Wildwood Villas on Beech Street, prompting a call to authorities.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the child gained access to a firearm, resulting in a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene, transporting the child to ECU Health Medical Center. Despite their efforts, the child succumbed to the injuries.
