SAN ANGELO— A two vehicle crash sent three people to the hospital after a black sedan failed to yield the right of way in front of Walmart Super Center on South Jackson St. Tuesday afternoon.
Around 1:45 p.m., two vehicles crashed in front of Walmart on South Jackson Street at the intersection of Town and Country Road, Ben Ficklin Road, and South Bryant. San Angelo Police Department’s Public Information Officer Richard Espinoza that when officers arrived on scene, they learned that an orange passenger vehicle was northbound on South Bryant and a black Altima was trying to turn left into the Walmart parking lot across South Bryant.
The 74-year-old female drive of the black Altima failed to yield the right of way to the orange passenger vehicle, and both crashed in the intersection. The female drive of the Altima and the 56-year-old male passenger were both transported to the hospital as was the 37-year-old female driver of the orange passenger car. The injuries are non-life threatening to all three individuals that were involved in the crash.
The driver of the black Altima was cited for failing to yield the right of way turning left. The roads were dry, and the weather was clear at the time of the crash. First responders had several lanes closed while they worked and investigated the crash.
