Trucker Struck & Killed While Parked on I-20 Sunday

 

BAIRD, TX – A truck driver who was standing beside his big rig was struck and killed by another truck on IH-20 east of Baird over the weekend. 

According to Texas DPS Trooper Marc Couch, Yan Broytman, 43, of Frisco, TX had parked his 2017 Freightliner big rig on the side of the road about seven miles east of Baird on IH-20 while he was experiencing mechanical issues.  Broytman was standing outside his vehicle attempting to work on the engine.  At approximately 11:10 a.m. Sunday, another Freightliner 18-wheeler driven by Lewis Edward Clements Jr. of New Market, VA swerved out of the lane and struck Broytman as he worked on his disabled truck.  

Broytman was killed instantly.  

Clements was not injured in the crash.
