WATCH: Intoxicated Driver Arrested After Crash

SAN ANGELO— A crash at a busy intersection on the northside was caused by an intoxicated driver.

An intoxicated driver caused a major crash at the intersection of East 19th Street and Armstrong Street around 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday night in San Angelo.

According to the San Angelo Police Officer that was investigating the crash, the Ford Pickup was traveling eastbound on 19th Street and a white van was driving northbound on Armstrong. Two witnesses at the scene say the driver of the Ford pickup disregarded the red light and smashed into the side of the white van.

The driver of the Ford pickup was suspected to be intoxicated by the police investigator and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Incredibly, no injuries were reported at the scene and the driver of the van had already left before reporters arrived. But the driver of the pickup is going to jail.

The roads were clear and dry at the time of the crash.
