Low-Hanging Power Lines Cause Entrapment

WALL, TX - A crash between a cotton stripper and a telephone pole resulted in a man being entrapped within the machinery due to low-hanging power lines.

The crash prompted the closure of the intersection of US Highway 87 Frontage Rd and Brodnax Ln.

This all unfolded at around 6 p.m., on Jan. 10, and led to the disruption of power to nearby neighborhoods.

Linemen on the scene told San Angelo LIVE that power restoration efforts were underway and anticipated most areas would regain electricity within an hour.

Emergency measures were taken as power had to be temporarily shut off to facilitate the safe extraction of the individual trapped within the cotton stripper.

The operator was not deemed at fault, according to The Department of Public Safety.
