SAN ANGELO, TX — There is a commotion occurring downtown where San Angelo Police were dispatched to fish a car out of the South Concho River. The location of the search is along the 800 block of South Concho Park Drive.
When police first arrived, officers did not know if anyone was inside the vehicle submerged in the river. Visible were tire marks in the grass from where the vehicle departed the prepared surface of S. Rio Concho Park Dr. and transitioned into the river. Police and firefighters initiated a search and rescue operation until the vehicle was successfully towed out of the water.
Police said once the car was on the banks of the river, inside the vehicle they found two dead males who were estimate to be in their teens.
While we were filming the operation, a woman approached us and told us that she was looking for her grandson and that the car in the river is red. We can confirm also that the car was red.
Police will now identify the bodies and notify the next-of-kin. Possibly related to this afternoon’s tragic discovery were days-long requests to locate two teen males associated with the red car. The two male teens were last seen Thursday night, Dec. 28, at 10 p.m., according to the mother in a Facebook post. She did not know why her son was hanging out with the other teen.
