Distracted Driving Leads to Serious Crash on West Beauregard

SAN ANGELO, TX - Two cars crashed on W. Beauregard Thursday afternoon slowing traffic for a while.  A Lincoln Continental and a Chevy passenger car crashed in the 400 block of West Beauregard, leaving one driver with minor injuries and resulting in a citation for the Chevy driver.

According to the San Angelo Police Department, the Lincoln Continental came to a stop in response to traffic conditions.

Both vehicles were reportedly traveling eastbound at the time of the collision.

Law enforcement officials disclosed that the driver of the Chevy, allegedly distracted and inattentive, failed to notice the halted Lincoln in time.

The subsequent impact resulted in a forceful crash into the rear end of the stationary vehicle.

Emergency medical services promptly arrived at the scene, attending to the injured Chevy driver, who fortunately sustained only minor injuries.

After receiving on-site medical attention, the driver was released.

On the other hand, the occupant of the Lincoln emerged from the crash unscathed, escaping without any reported injuries.

Following an investigation, the driver of the Chevy was cited for failure to control speed.
