Drivers Killed in Callahan County Crash

 

BAIRD, TX – Two drivers were killed Saturday night in a crash on Highway 36 in Callahan County.  According to information from Texas Dept. of Public Safety Trooper Marc Couch, a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado pickup was eastbound on SH-36 on a curve and a 2021 Honda Ridgeline was westbound on the same stretch of roadway.  

Trooper Couch says the crash investigation shows the Chevy Silverado drifted into the westbound lane on the curve in the dark and crashed into the Ridgeline.  

Dennis Warren, 55, of Houston was driving the Chevy.  He was killed in the crash and pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Andy Holland at 7:36 p.m. Dec. 16, 2023.  

Christobal Solis, 48, of Abilene was driving the Ridgeline.  He was also killed in the crash and pronounced deceased by J.P. Holland.  74-year-old Frank Solis of Abilene was a passenger in the Ridgeline.  He was transported by ambulance to Hendrick Hospital in Abilene with serious injuries.
