Driver Trapped After Crash Sends SUV Careening Into College Hills Home

 

SAN ANGELO – Two Cadillac SUVs crashed at the intersection of S. Johnson and Ave. J Wednesday afternoon sending one vehicle into a house on the corner and trapping the driver inside.  

Police and firefighters were dispatched to a major crash with entrapment and injuries at the intersection around 1 p.m.  

SAPD Traffic Division investigating officer Welch said at the scene that a dark Cadillac SUV was eastbound on Ave. J while a Gray Cadillac SUV was southbound on Johnson St.  The driver of the SUV on Ave. J failed to yield the right of way, entered the intersection in the path of the other vehicle and caused the crash.

Officer Welch said the driver of the SUV that hit the house was transported to the hospital with what appeared to be non life threatening injuries.  

The driver of the SUV that caused the crash was issued two citations; one for Failure to Yield the Right of Way and one for No Driver's License.
