WATCH: S. Bryant Crash was one of Several Involving Silver Car

SAN ANGELO— One individual is in custody after a serious crash at South Jackson Street and South Bryant Boulevard caused the suspect’s vehicle to end up on its side.

At about 2:50 p.m., San Angelo Police responded to the intersection of South Bryant Boulevard and South Jackson Street for reports of a major crash where an individual was trapped inside a vehicle. Once on scene, a silver Nissan Altima was flipped on the driver’s side and was stuck between a black Ford F-150 and a white Range Rover. A dark colored Kia Telluride was also struck by the Altima.

The driver of the Altima, along with the other driver’s involved, was sitting on the sidewalk in front of the Century Terrace Apartments. The man was stood up and was handcuffed almost immediately by San Angelo Police Officers. While he was in custody, he was transported to Shannon Medical Center for treatment.

Law enforcement worked the scene and shut down three lanes of northbound traffic and the right turn onto South Jackson Street. The San Angelo Fire Department cleaned up debris and tow trucks arrived to remove the vehicles involved. The Kia Telluride was able to drive off. A white GMC Acadia was thought to be involved but wasn’t.

A second ambulance arrived and a young woman in blue was also transported to Shannon Medical Center in a neck brace.

Just before this crash was called, scanner report indicated that a silver Nissan Altima was involved in a hit-and-run crash on Bell Street where officers claimed that the vehicle “blew” past him after allegedly causing a crash on South Bell Street.

One of the tow trucks chained the silver Nissan and pulled it over to its right side. After this, a large beer can was taken out of the vehicle. There also appeared to be several other crashes that involved the same vehicle, but an official statement has not been given.
