Rainy Night Single Vehicle Crash Kills 2

GUSTINE, TX – Two people were killed in a single vehicle crash in Comanche County Sunday night on a wet roadway.

According to information from Texas DPS Trooper Marc Couch, a 2012 F-350 pickup was traveling southeast on SH-36 about 5 miles north of Gustine, TX around 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

The one ton truck driven by 23-year-old Irvin Said Vasquez Gandara of Mexico lost traction and left the roadway striking the end cap of a guardrail on the right side of the pavement.  The truck traveled south through the ditch and crashed into a tree.

Vasquez Gandara and 27-year-old male passenger Mishael Rubi Deanda of Gustine died at the crash scene.

Neither one was wearing a seatbelt.

It was dark, raining, and the roadway was wet at the time of the fatal crash.  The driver might have been intoxicated according to the official DPS report.
