SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo Police Department dispatched police officers at 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning to the intersection of Avenue J and Harrison Street for a crash involving a cyclist and a white pickup truck.
According to officers on the scene, a 53-year-old woman was riding a bicycle westbound on Avenue J. The pickup truck was stopped at the stop sign traveling southbound on Harrison Street. Although the truck stopped, the driver continued into the intersection and hit the cyclist.
Officers reported that the woman had road rash and leg pain. The driver of the white pickup was issued a written warning for failure to yield the right of way from a stopped position. Medical personnel checked out the injured woman on the scene.
