Rural Crash Wednesday Claims the Life of an Elderly Driver

CLYDE, TX – A 93-year-old woman driver was killed in a two vehicle crash Wednesday at a rural intersection in Callahan County.

According to information from DPS Trooper Marc Couch, 93-year-old Lina Saucedo De Loving of Clyde was driving a 2014 Ford pickup west on CR 258 nearing the intersection of FM 603 around 12:16 p.m. At the same time, 57-year-old Paul James of Clyde was driving a 2020 Chevy Silverado towing a dump trailer north on Fm 603.

The report indicates Saucedo De Loving failed to yield the right of way and pulled into the intersection into the path of James crashing into the dump trailer.  The Silverado and trailer jack-knifed in the roadway while the Ford pickup rolled over.

Saucedo De Loving was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Tom Rumfield.  James was transported by ambulance to Hendrick Hospital North in stable condition.
