Truck Driver Dies in Rollover Crash on I-20

 

LORAINE, TX – A truck driver died on Monday morning after rolling his truck on I-20 near Loraine in Mitchell County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, on Aug. 14, 2023 at around 7 a.m., DPS Troopers were dispatched to Interstate 20 just east of Loraine between Colorado City and Sweetwater for the report of a major crash.

Once one scene, the troopers found a semi truck that had rolled over on the interstate. The driver of the truck, Bobby Edwards, 57, of Duncanville, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The troopers investigation revealed that the truck failed to make a curve on the interstate and rolled over. Before the truck came to a stop it also struck the center cable and light pole.
