Unlicensed Teen Driver Crashes Into Santa Fe Injuring One

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – A two car crash near the train tracks on S. Bryant sent one driver to the hospital on Thursday afternoon.

According to San Angelo Police Department's Public Information Officer, on Aug. 3, 2023, San Angelo Police were dispatched to the intersection of Avenue L and S. Bryant for the report of a major crash.

Once on scene, the officers discovered a Red Nissan Juke and a Blue Hyundai Santa Fe that had crashed in the middle of the intersection. The driver of the Santa Fe was rushed to Shannon. Her injuries were reported as non-incapacitating. The driver of the Nissan was checked on scene and then released.

Officers on scene said the crash occurred after the Nissan failed to yield the right of way to the Santa Fe while turning left onto Avenue L from the northbound lane. The 18-year-old driver was cited for the crash as well as not having a driver's license.
