San Angelo Man Killed in Fatal Crash in Midland

 

MIDLAND, TX – A San Angelo man was killed in a cash on Saturday in Midland.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, on July 29, 2023 at around 4:15 a.m., Texas DPS troopers were dispatched to the intersection of Tom Craddick Highway and County Road 60 for the report of a major crash.

Once on scene, the troopers discovered a Kia Optima that had crashed into the side of a Chevrolet Silverado. The driver of the Silverado was rushed to Midland Memorial Hospital via ambulance.

The driver of the Kia, Ario Pela Fine, 30, of San Angelo, was also taken to MMH but was pronounced dead by medical staff.

The trooper's crash investigation determined that the Kia was traveling northwest on County Road 60, ran the stop sign at the Tom Craddick Highway, and struck the pickup. 

At the time of the crash the road condition was dry and the weather was clear. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
