SAN ANGELO, TX – AirMed1 was called to a three vehicle crash in Grape Creek on Monday afternoon with several injuries.
According to our reporters on scene, on July 17, 2023 at around 2:15 p.m., Texas DPS troopers, Grape Creek Volunteer Firefighters, Carlsbad VFD and Shannon AirMed1 were dispatched to the area of US 87 N and Glass Rd. for the report of a major crash.
The crash involved an 18-wheeler, an SUV, and a motorcycle. Scanner reports indicated that there were multiple people injured including adults and children. There was reportedly individuals trapped in the big rig.

DPS shut down all traffic on both sides of US-87. Traffic was being detoured down Glass Rd. DPS was asking drivers to avoid the area if possible.
This is a developing story and will be updated when officials release more information.
UPDATE 3:20 P.M.
The DPS has confirmed that the crash includes at least one fatality. Drivers are still asked to avoid the area.
No names of the deceased have been released at this time.
The SUV is a red Ford SUV. No description was given of the motorcycle or the Semi-truck.
UPDATE 3:30 P.M.
DPS has reopened the southbound lane of US 87 N.
