Perryton man Dies in Nolan County Rollover Crash

 

SWEETWATER— A Perryton man is dead after a fatal SUV rollover crash in Nolan County Saturday.

According to information released by the Department of Public Safety, a fatal crash occurred near Interstate 20 just east of Sweetwater. A 2022 Toyota RAV 4 was traveling eastbound on the north service road of Interstate 20. The driver, identified as 22-year-old Andrew William Luna, failed to drive in a single lane and drove off the road into the south bar ditch.

There, Luna struck a concrete culvert which caused his vehicle to go airborne, striking a stop sign and rolling several times. Luna was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.

Luna was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital and was pronounced dead on June 24, 2023, at 2:22 p.m. by doctors.

The weather was clear and the road conditions were dry at the time of the crash.
