Multiple Donkeys Killed in Crash on US 87 North

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A major crash shut down a section of US Highway 87 on Wednesday night due to a crash involving donkeys. 

According to the Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Department, on June 14, 2023 at around 10 p.m., GCVFD Firefighters were dispatched to the intersection of US 87 and Ballard Rd. for the report of a major crash. 

Once on scene Tom Green County Sheriff Deputies and Texas DPS Troopers discovered a crash involving two to three donkeys and 2 crashed vehicles. A witness reported that the three donkeys suffered incapacitating injuries.

The fire department confirmed that there were multiple animal fatalities. It is unknown if humans were injured in the crash. The crash scene was cleared by 11:15 p.m.
