ROBY, TX – A 15-year-old boy on a Harley Sportster was killed in a crash with a 18-wheeler Thursday night in Roby.
According to information from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the teen was riding a 2007 Harley Davidson Sportster headed east on US-180 approaching the intersection of Ammons Rd. in Roby attempting to make a righthand turn onto Ammons. At the same time, a 2018 Peterbilt truck tractor towing a 2011 Black Diamond flatbed semi-trailer was traveling east on US-180 near the intersection.
The teen was unable to maintain control of the motorcycle and crossed the center line and crashed into the semi-trailer. He was killed in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene.
The weather was clear and dry at the time of the crash.
