Driver Unconscious & Hospitalized After Unusual Crash

SAN ANGELO – The driver of a black Nissan Sentra apparently suffered a medical condition which contributed to a crash Tuesday morning at the intersection of University and S. Jackson sending her to the hospital.

According to San Angelo Police Department Traffic Division investigating officer Welch, the black Nissan Sentra and a red Chrysler 200 were approaching the four way stop intersection.  The Chrysler was headed east on University and the Sentra was headed north on Jackson.  For an unknown reason, both vehicles entered the intersection and crashed.

Reports indicate the driver of the Sentra was unconscious behind the wheel after the crash.

There was a female juvenile passenger in the black vehicle who was not injured.  The driver of the Sentra was transported by ambulance to the hospital and was conscious in the ambulance.
