Fiery Rollover Crash on US-87 N. Visible for Miles Friday

SAN ANGELO, TX – First Responders were dispatched to a fiery rollover Crash Friday Afternoon that blocked traffic on US-87 N. toward Grape Creek on the bridge over Bald Eagle Creek.

According to our reporters on scene, at around 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 3, 2023, firefighters with the Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Department and EMS from the San Angelo Fire Department were dispatched to the intersection of March Rd. and US 87 N. for the report of a major crash.

When our reporters arrived on scene they could see the vehicle that had rolled and caught on fire. Here are photos from the scene:

Law enforcement asked that the public avoid the area as the highway is backed up at this time. Currently southbound traffic is at a stand still.

Quickly after the crash, Facebook began lighting up with questions about the fire.

Injuries at this point are unknown but Justice of the Peace Eddie Howard has been spotted on scene. The fire was put out by 3 p.m.

Volunteer firefighters with the Quail Valley Volunteer Fire Department, troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety, and deputies with the Tom Green County Sheriff's office were also called to the scene.

This is a developing story.
