Young Girl on Electric Skateboard Struck and Killed by Car

 

MIDLAND, TX – A young girl was killed over the weekend after she was struck by a car while riding an electric skateboard in Midland.

According to reports, on Dec. 31, 2022 at around 6:29 p.m., officers with the Midland Police Department were dispatched to the 5500 block of Magellan St. for the report of a major crash involving a pedestrian.

When they arrived, officers discovered that a child had been struck by a car. She was rushed to Midland Memorial with life threatening injuries. The child died the following morning.

Investigators determined that the girl crossed the intersection of Magellan St and Mockingbird Ln and was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Mockingbird Ln.

The identity of the child has not been revealed. It is unknown if the driver was cited for any crimes at the scene.
