Drunk Driver Arrested After Wrong-Way Fatal Crash

 

PECOS, TX – A four vehicle crash Saturday night in I-20 near Pecos resulted in two deaths and one arrest.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, on Nov. 19, troopers with the Texas DPS were dispatched to I-20 near mile marker 19 for the report of a crash involving four vehicles.

When they arrived, the troopers discovered that the crash occurred due to a head on crash with a wrong way driver. Following the initial crash two more cars crashed into the disabled vehicle. 

The car traveling in the wrong lane was driven by 30-year-old Juan Orta-Gonzalez. In the crash two individuals were killed. They were in the car that Orta-Gonazalez initially hit.

Orta-Gonzalez was arrested and charged with two counts of Intoxicated Manslaughter. He was taken to the Reeves County Jail.
