WATCH: Unlicensed Driver Injured in Santa Rita Crash

 

SAN ANGELO- A lunchtime crash in a residential neighborhood sent one individual to the hospital.

On Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at about 12:40 p.m., San Angelo police and other first responders were called to the intersection of Austin Street and Avenue K regarding a major crash. Once on scene, a white Ford Expedition and a silver Mitsubishi Eclipse were in the roadway, and both had front end damage.

 

Officer Long with the San Angelo Police Department issued a statement saying that the white Ford Expedition was traveling westbound on Avenue K and the silver Mitsubishi Eclipse was driving southbound on Austin Street. The Ford failed to yield the right of way from the stop sign and the two vehicles crashed in the intersection.

The driver of the Ford Expedition was cited for failing to yield the right of way from the stop sign. The driver of the Mitsubishi Eclipse was transported to the hospital with minor injuries and was cited for not having a driver’s license.

The roadway was dry at the time of the crash and the weather was clear.
