Vehicle Hits Lamp Post 15 Feet in the Air During Rollover Crash

SAN ANGELO, TX — Medics have rescued the occupant of a vehicle involved in a rollover crash on Loop 306 near the Sherwood Way exit.

Look at the light post to the left of the rollover vehicle and observe how high the point of impact is. The vehicle apparently went airborne before landing and rolling over or the vehicle went vertical to hit the light pole before crashing down. We estimate the point of impact is 10-15 feet above the base of the light pole.

There is only one ambulance at the scene and as this photo shows, it appears at least one occupant is conscious. We are hearing that as many as three occupants were in the rollover vehicle that appears to be an SUV.

The crash happened at 7:45 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of the 4200 block of Loop 306. San Angelo police advise that the eastbound side of the loop will be down on a single lane for the next two hours.

We will update this story as soon as police have time to talk.

Watch as Home Motors pulls the vehicle upright. It appears to be a GM-style SUV like an Acadia

Update 8:45: Police rushed away from the scene and did not offer us a description of the crash.
