WATCH: Fatal Crash on US 277 Near Abilene Tuesday Claims the Life of One Driver

 

ABILENE – One driver was killed and another seriously injured in what appears to be a head on crash about 25 miles south of Abilene on US 277 Tuesday morning.  

According to officials on the scene, a dark colored vehicle was southbound toward San Angelo and a white SUV was northbound toward Abilene when the vehicles crashed in the roadway.  

The driver of the dark colored vehicle reportedly was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.  

Driver of the white SUV was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by Volunteer Firefighters.

Officials have not identified the deceased or the injured driver.  

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.  

Traffic was blocked on US 277 for about half an hour.
