BREAKING: Toddler Drowns in Lake Colorado City

 

COLORADO CITY, TX – Law Enforcement officials Monday confirmed a toddler drowned over the weekend at Lake Colorado City.

According to Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, on Jun. 24 at around 7 p.m., game wardens with the TPWD were dispatched to Lake Colorado City for the report of a drowning.

Prior to arrival it was learned that a small female child, who was not wearing a life jacket, had fallen off of a raft or flotation device into the lake.

Reports claim that bystanders attempted to jump in and save the child but were unsuccessful. 

TPWD did confirm that the girl's body was recovered by law enforcement. The identity of the child has not been released at this time.
