Fiery Semi Truck Crash Shuts Down I-20

 

MIDLAND, TX – A fiery crash involving an 18-wheeler shut down a portion of I-20 on Thursday morning in Midland.

According to multiple reports, on May 19 at around 11:30 a.m., law enforcement officials, paramedics, and firefighters from around the Midland area were dispatched to I-20 near exit 135 near Cotton Flat Rd. 

When officials arrived they discovered a Semi truck that was completely engulfed in flames and a silver SUV that had crashed on the interstate.

Information on injuries in the crash have not been released at this time.

I-20 in the area is shut down because of the crash and resulting fire and smoke. Along with the crash a grass fire has started near the North Service road shutting down all westbound traffic.

Reports are also stating that the Petroleum Museum of Midland has been evacuated.

The cause of the crash is still unknown at this time.
