UPDATE: Semi and Dually Crash Head-On North of San Angelo

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A major crash has shut down a portion of US Highway 277 on Friday afternoon. 

Reporters on scene confirmed that on Mar. 25 at around 12:15 p.m. DPS, TGCSO, and a number of EMS and Fire personnel were dispatched to U.S. Highway 277, near the Goodyear Proving Grounds, for the report of a major crash. 

Traffic is currently backed up on both sides of the highway.

Airmed1 was called to the crash. Injuries are unknown at this time. 

UPDATE 1:21 P.M.:

Reporters on scene confirmed that the crash involved an 18-wheeler and a white dually pickup truck.

Both lanes of the highway are now open. Crews will be on scene for an extended period of time cleaning debris off of the roadway.

The 18-wheeler went through a portion of fence to end up on its side. The dually had extensive damage to the front driver's side. Here are photos from the scene
