WATCH: Drivers Injured in Crash Near Angelo State University

SAN ANGELO, TX – A crash Wednesday afternoon near the Angelo State University campus sent two people to the hospital.

According to Sgt. Welch with the San Angelo Police Department's Motor Unit, on Mar. 16 at around 2:15 p.m., officers with the San Angelo Police Department, along with firefighters and paramedics with the San Angelo Fire Department, were dispatched to the intersection of W. Beauregard and S. Campus for the report of a major crash.

When the officers arrived they discovered a grey F-150 and a White GMC Yukon that had crashed in the middle of the intersection. The crash caused both vehicles to leave the roadway and enter residential properties on the south side of the street.

Both of the vehicles were occupied by only the drivers and both were taken to Shannon Medical Center with non-incapacitating injuries.

PD's investigation revealed that then F-150 was headed north on Campus while the Yukon was driving west on Beauregard. The F-150 ran the stop sign at the intersection causing the crash.

Sgt. Welch confirmed that the driver of the F-150 was cited for disregarding the stop sign.
