Fire Breaks Out at San Angelo Homeless Camp

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – A fire erupted Friday morning near the San Angelo homeless camp along the Concho River from 7th St. to 14th St. 

According to the scanner reports, on Mar. 11 at around 8 a.m., fire fighters with the San Angelo Fire Department were dispatched to the area of N. Bryant and 7th St. for a smoke report. 

Officers on scene reported hearing small explosions in the blaze and it is speculated that there was some type of ammunition exploding.

The San Angelo Police Department issued a Nixle alert asking the public to avoid the area between 7th and 14th St. The fire is now out.

No injuries were reported and no major structures were damaged.
