Child Killed in Monday Night House Fire

 

MIDLAND, TX – A Midland family is morning the death of a child Monday night in a house fire.  

According to the Midland Fire Marshals Office, on Jan. 17 at around 6 p.m., firefighters with the Midland Fire Department were dispatched to the 4100 block of S. County Road 1226 for the report of a structure fire. 

When they arrived, firefighters discovered a structure that was completely engulfed in flames. One adult and two children were rescued from the burning house and taken to the hospital with burn related injuries.

One child later died at the hospital from injuries sustained in the fire.

The cause of the fire has not been determined and the identity of the deceased child has not been released at this time.
