SAN ANGELO, TX –– The San Angelo Police Department has released additional details in the motorcycle crash that sent two people to the hospital on Tuesday evening.
According to SAPD, officers were dispatched to the intersection of West Ave L. and S. Bryant Blvd for reports of a major motor vehicle accident. At the scene, officers learned that the two individuals traveling on a motorcycle had been injured in the crash.
The preliminary investigation showed the motorcycle was traveling north on S. Bryant Blvd when a pickup traveling south on S. Bryant entered the intersection attempting to turn east onto Ave L.
SAPD's Motors Division and Criminal Investigation Division arrived on the scene to assist with the accident investigation and determined the driver of the pickup failed to yield the right of way to the motorcycle in the intersection.
The motorcycle was operated by a 40-year-old male and had a 41-year-old female passenger.
The male motorcyclist was transported to Shannon Medical Center with extensive injuries. He is in critical condition, but stable at this time. The female passenger sustained minor injuries and the driver of the pickup was not injured.
At this time it is unknown if the driver of the pickup was cited on the scene for the violation.
