Crash Near Wall Kills One Driver Saturday Night

 

SAN ANGELO – A San Angelo resident was killed in a two vehicle crash between Wall and San Angelo Saturday night.  

According to information from Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Justin Baker, the driver of a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria turned onto U.S. 87 one mile west of Wall heading toward San Angelo.

At the same time, 21-year-old Emily Miller of San Angelo was also northbound on U.S. 87 driving a 2007 Honda Fit.  

36-year-old Micah Deshon Jones of San Angelo turned the Ford around on the highway in front of the Honda for an unknown reason.  The Honda crashed into the driver's side of the Ford at approximately 11:06 p.m. Saturday night.  The skies were clear to partly cloudy.  

Jones was killed in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace J.P. McGuire.  

Miller was transported by ambulance from the crash scene to Shannon Medial Center where she was treated and released with non-incapacitating injuries.  

Jones wasn't wearing a seatbelt.  Miller was wearing a seatbelt.  

The crash was investigated by DPS Trooper Robert Newman who was assisted by the Tom Green County Sheriff's office.
