Pedestrian Killed In Major Crash On Saturday Night

 

ABILENE, TX –– A 25-year-old Abilene man is dead after a major crash on Saturday night.

According to the Abilene Police Department, shortly after 10:00 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of South First Street for reports of a crash.

When officers arrived at the scene they located the victim –– identified as Gabriel Xavier Deleon –– laying in the street. According to the preliminary investigation, Deleon was walking when he was struck by a driver traveling east on South First.

Deleon sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 45-year-old Jennifer Lee Lewis and at this time there is no indication she was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

No arrests have been made in connection to the crash at this time and the crash remains under investigation by the Abilene Police Department Traffic Division.
