Driver Killed When He Was Ejected in a Rollover Crash

 

BIG LAKE – A 30-year-old Eagle Pass man died Monday morning south of Big Lake after being ejected during a rollover crash.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, on Oct. 18 at 7:21 a.m., troopers with the DPS were dispatched to State Hwy. 137, 13 miles south of Big Lake, for the report of a major crash.

When the troopers arrived, they discovered a 1996 Ford Explorer SUV that had rolled over during a high speed crash.

The driver of the vehicle, John David Saucedo, 30, of Eagle Pass, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation by DPS revealed that the Explorer was traveling south on State Highway 137. Road conditions were dry. The Explorer failed to drive in a single lane causing the the driver to lose control.

The Explorer veered off the west side of the roadway, the driver over corrected causing the Explorer to enter into a side skid. The Explorer rolled over ejecting the driver.

Saucedo was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The Reagan County Sheriff's Office assisted DPS in the crash.
